Demand for new homes at Worcestershire village scheme

Keys to the first completed homes have now been handed to their new owners at a housing scheme in Blakedown.

The first residents have moved into the new 49-home scheme currently being built by national housebuilder Miller Homes off Station Drive in the village, known as Springbrook Gardens.

A showhome opened at the site in late 2025, ahead of the first formal occupations in 2026, with construction work set to continue until the end of 2026.

Developer Miller Homes, whose West Midlands region is delivering the scheme, has witnessed a significant demand for the new homes in Blakedown, where more than half of the properties to be built at the site have already been purchased.

Carl Cooke, sales director of Miller Homes West Midlands, said: “We have been really pleased, if not surprised, at the demand for our homes at Springbrook Gardens since we launched the development in 2025.

“The location of the homes we’re building in Blakedown benefit from the village’s lifestyle, while still being well connected via the trains and the roads into Kidderminster or to join the M5 motorway.

“Springbrook Gardens is going to be a tight-knit community of new residents, with 49 homes being built here. We’ve now sold 65 per cent of the properties as the first of our homeowners settle into their new homes, with the clock already ticking on the sales programme for the scheme.”

Miller Homes West Midlands, based in Worcestershire, is building a range of two to five-bedroom homes in Blakedown, including 12 properties provided as affordable housing.

Public open space will be created by the developer to the east of the site, next to the two bungalow properties being built by Miller Homes as part of the development.

The developer has also opened its on-site sales office alongside the four-bedroom Crosswood showhome which opened last year, accessed from the front of the site.

The site will be surrounded by retained and enhanced landscaping including mature trees, while a wildlife area will be positioned to the north of the development.
